Of the 6,417 Yazidis abducted by ISIS, the fate of 2,800 is still unknown to this day. More than eight years after they were abducted by ISIS terrorists, the women's detachments of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) found two Yazidi girls, Wafa, 18, and Sawsan, 24, in the Al-Hol camp.

Both girls were discovered during an operation to pursue cells of terrorist organizations conducted by the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in cooperation with the international coalition against terrorism.

Wafa and Sawsan were abducted along with thousands of Yazidis during an ISIS attack in the summer of 2014 against the religious and national Yazidi minority in the Sinjar region, as a result of which more than 6 417 people were abducted, most of whom were women and children, according to the statistics of the "House of Yazidis", the fate of 2 800 is still unknown.

"House of Yazidis" is a public organization established in 2012 to represent the Yazidi community in the Syrian region of Al Jazeera. His work is currently focused on finding the fate of abducted Yazidi women and men.

According to the "House of Yazidis", Wafa was 10 years old when she was abducted, and Sawsan was abducted a few weeks after her marriage. Although the girls were sold several times in captivity and slavery and forced to marry, they had no children during the abduction. The so-called "master" of the girls who held them captive has been detained.

The discovery of the two girls renewed the discussion about the fate of disappeared Yazidi women and the impact issued by the Spiritual Council of the Yazidis of Iraq (Fatwas), in April 2019. In which it is written not to accept children born from the rape of Yazidi women, this decision stops the women from being able to return, they cannot abandon their children, even if born in captivity.

A member of the "House of Yazidis". Farouk Tozu divides kidnapped Yazidis into three categories:

• Kidnapped women are forced to hide their identity because of their children.

It is estimated that this category is the largest of Yazidi women.

Afraid of being killed and under constant threat from ISIS family members, the Yazidis deny their identity, claim to be Muslims and are obliged to wear the veil.

• Kidnapped people are brainwashed.

This category of abductees is mainly formed in childhood. The girl, who was 10 years old or younger at the time of the abduction, was subjected to complete brainwashing through very intensive training courses. These courses convinced many children to believe in the ideas of ISIS and, accordingly, refuse to reveal their true identity. Many Yazidi children were taught that Yazidis should be killed and that they are not people and killing a Yazidi in the future you will go to heaven.

• Yazidi women who gave birth to children as a result of sexual violence.

The most vulnerable category consists of women who gave birth as a result of rape or forced marriage.

This category is divided into two parts, women who hide their identity and decide to stay with their children.

The second category is those who wish to return and free themselves from terrorists, and in this context a case is cited of a Yazidi woman with children returning to her family who violated a fatwa of the Spiritual Council and accepted the children.

The Syrian Democratic Forces expect the presence of about 200 more Yazidi women and children in the Al-Hol campf.
