There is no money — more than half of the residents of Georgia have not planned a summer vacation

Every second resident of Georgia did not plan a tourist trip in the summer, in most cases the reason is the deterioration of the financial situation, the consulting company ACT reported. 

In the survey, up to 40% said that they planned to go on vacation and 55% — that they had no plans.

ACT published data of the survey on expectations in the field of tourism, which was conducted from June 11 to 16, 800 citizens of Georgia, aged 18 years and older, were randomly selected..

Compared with previous years, 10% fewer citizens are planning a vacation trip this year.  At the same time, 40% of the survey participants said that their financial situation over the past year has worsened.

According to the study, the most active group (54%) who goes on a trip during the holidays is from 18 to 34 years old. With age, the desire for active recreation decreases to 24% in the age group after 55 years.

Also, residents of Tbilisi (56%) plan trips during their holidays more often than the regions.

The average length of vacation in summer is up to two weeks (65%).

More than half - 58% - plan to spend their holidays at their dacha or in the village with close relatives. 40% said they would like to go to the sea, and 23% - to mountain resorts. 

Only 16% of respondents planning a vacation plan to leave the country for a vacation.

Those survey participants who do not plan any tourist trips in the summer said the main reason for this was the lack of money — 60%. 27% cannot go on vacation for personal reasons, and 9% said they would not take a vacation in the summer at all.
