The surviving Yezidi woman, Hala Makhlo Rafu, who, like more than thirty members of her family, fell into the hands of ISIS terrorists, and then spent six years in captivity of terrorists.

After her release, the girl could not even think about a normal and happy life. But, last week, Hala was engaged to a young Yazidi activist, Nasr Hader Khairo.

Relatives of the young and local Yezidis are happy about this event, because a young Yezidi woman who was in captivity has a second chance for a happy future. And this betrothal proves the fact that the Yezidi society accepts their daughters who were in captivity and were subjected to violence.

Thus, the modern Yezidi youth challenges radical Islamists with their peace and love, which are the principles of the Yezidi religion that they learned from their ancestors, there is no place for terrorism and violence in the hearts of young Yezidis.

«Yezidis are peaceful people, we have a peaceful religion that preaches peace, kindness, love and life. A life that must go on despite the genocides, disasters and sufferings to which the Yezidi people have been subjected».

The editors of the Cultural Center of the Caucasus Yezidis wish happiness to the young.
