This week, an eighteen-year-old Yazidi boy named Vajdi from the Zeidan refugee camp was attacked, sadistically beaten and had his ears cut off. The crime occurred in the vicinity of the Sharia displaced person’s camp.
Details of the crime
According to Zaidan Ali, Vajdi's father, by about 22.00 hours, his son told his family members that he was going to watch a football match with friends, and went to the Sharia camp, which was located near their camp for displaced persons.
After the end of the match, Vajdi said goodbye to his friends and went home, he left the camp alone, since all his friends remained in Sharia's camp. On the way, the guy was attacked by several people, as the young man himself tells, there were three attackers:
"Returning to my camp, three people unknown to me blocked my way, after which, for no reason, they unexpectedly attacked me and began to beat me with their fists on the body and in the head until I lost consciousness. In an unconscious state, they cut off my ears."
Vazdi bled to death, resulting in severe blood loss, but the guy survived.
Afdal Ali, Vajdi's uncle, says that the crime happened not far from their camp, he spoke with one witness who is very scared and afraid, but confessed to him that he saw three attackers, they are older than the victim and spoke Sinjari dialect.
The Wajdi family lived in the village of Seba in Sinjar district, they were moved to the Sharia camp after an attack by ISIS terrorists in August 2014.
Zaidan Ali, the victim's father said:
"We have no problems with anyone. Vazdi is a good hardworking guy who didn't have many enemies, he was only busy studying. I think this crime was committed on the basis of our Yezidi national and religious affiliation. I am convinced that this crime was committed by ISIS accomplices, they are among us, they live next to dreams, there are many people who are still at large and support the ISIS terrorist organization."
Zaidan called on the government and local authorities, represented by the police, to investigate and arrest the criminals.
According to local media, there are no suspects, and no one has been detained.
The complaint was registered at the local police station, and according to the local head of police, an investigation will be conducted.
