Ministry of Immigration of Iraq: Next year will be the last for Yazidi refugees and displaced persons in the camps
The Ministry of Migration and Displacement of Iraq has suggested that next year will be the last for Yazidi refugees and displaced persons in the country.
Deputy Minister for Administrative Affairs Karim Al-Nuri stated: "There is hope that next year will be the last year for the cause of Yazidi refugees and displaced persons. There is a plan to close camps across the country, which needs to be implemented with the support of the authorities. We must do everything to return the refugees and their families to their places of origin. The Ministry is working to grant rights to all displaced persons registered in its previous and current data, so that each of them receives full rights and privileges according to the status of displaced persons."
Now, thousands of Yazidi families are in a deplorable state, which are distributed throughout Iraq and Kurdistan. There is no drinking water, medicines in the camps, humanitarian aid has been halved, there are practically no means of livelihood. Cases of suicide among young people have become more frequent due to the hopelessness of living in camps.
