Journalists of the Cultural Center of the Caucasus Yezidis Oksana Smoeva and David Babaev took part in a webinar organized by the Nadias Initiative. The "Murad Code" webinar was held on April 14 in an online format on the zoom platform and was relayed on the official UN website. The purpose of the " Murad Code" webinar was to familiarize people with the project, which emphasizes the need to professionally cover events related to sexual violence.
I would like to tell you what the project of the organization "Initiatives of Nadia" - "Murad Code" is.

The Murad Code project, named after Nobel Peace Prize laureate Nadia Murad, aims to support the collection of information about systematic and conflict-related sexual violence focused on survivors by human rights defenders and criminal documentaries, investigators, journalists, and others. Failure to comply with minimum standards when documenting such sexual violence is unethical and unprofessional, may expose survivors or victims to safety, health and other risks, and may lead to ineffective outcomes for all involved."

The webinar featured victims of sexual violence who shared their stories about how the unprofessionalism of journalists and "experts" harmed them. After the presentation, the experts answered questions from the participants of the webinar. At the end of the webinar, Nobel Prize laureate Nadia Murad made a speech, who shared with the speakers her vision of the " Murad Code"project and its further future.
