The Institute is working on the formation of academic musical groups that represent Sinjar inside and outside Iraq. The management of the educational institution seeks to open additional branches in Sinjar and other regions of Kurdistan if they receive support from the relevant authorities of Kurdistan.
According to the director of the Institute, Fahd Harbo Khader, everything is being done to preserve the Yezidi musical heritage, all this consists in constant listening to cassettes and old recordings of Yezidi musicians and singers and an academic explanation of the artistic level.
The Institute is at an early stage, so it faces many obstacles, such as the difficulty of connecting students from remote places, the lack of any support from government agencies or non-governmental organizations, in addition, the need for musical instruments in large numbers, as the institute receives hundreds of students every week.
According to the director of the music educational institution, the main goal of the institute is "to instill hope in the hearts of people and encourage them to revive life and restore Sinjar with all its details and all its beautiful components that have a very ancient culture."
