In January 2022, prices for Georgian-made drinking and mineral water increased by 8-12%. This is reported by the BMG agency.

Prices began to rise during the New Year holidays. Now in Georgia, a one-and-a-half-liter bottle of bottled drinking water costs 1.5 lari on average.

Manufacturers explain the rise in price of products by the growth of operating expenses. According to them, this is primarily due to an increase in the costs of raw materials, packaging materials and logistics. The situation with the coronavirus pandemic, which affected absolutely all areas of business, was also of great importance.

"The rise in the price of fuel and the increase in transportation costs have a great impact on the cost of the product. At the same time, the cost of the material — containers - has increased significantly in the world, so the company eventually had to increase the cost of water," Anna Berishvili, head of the marketing department of Tskali Margebeli Holding, which includes Nabeglavi, told reporters.

Similar reasons are given in IDS Borjomi Tbilisi, a member of IDS Borjomi International. Meanwhile, Aqua Geo, which produces mineral water under the Kobi and Sno brands, says that their expenses have increased by 30%. They fear that their products may become unprofitable if the situation on world markets does not stabilize in the near future.

"First of all, raw materials themselves are becoming more expensive, as well as oil and gas, which makes glass containers more expensive. Everything has becom
