The other day, the mayor of the Sinjar district named the Ministry of Migration and Displacement of Iraq guilty of the extermination of the Yezidis and the continuation of their suffering.

"The Ministry and officials do not provide Yazidi refugees in IDP camps with fuel in this cold winter, and also do not create suitable conditions for returning to their places of permanent residence, deprive them of all legal rights.

The Ministry has caused a great insult to the displaced Yezidis by placing ISIS families in the Al-Jada camp and providing them with all the necessary conditions for a comfortable life.

Why do the Yezidis, who were subjected to the largest genocide in the history of Iraq, continue to suffer? The Ministry closes its eyes under the pretext of lack of funds and does not think about those who lie on the ground and are wrapped in damp blankets in the freezing cold. Cairo is subjecting the Yezidis to a new genocide and certain death."

The Mayor of Sinjar district calls on the United Nations, respected religious figures and political blocs to put an end to these abuses against the Yazidi people.

If the Ministry cannot fulfill its responsibilities towards displaced Yezidis, there is no other option but to call on the supervisory authorities and those concerned to put pressure on the Ministry of Migration and Displacement of Iraq to fulfill their duties towards displaced persons in general and the Yezidi people in particular.

The official said that he would appeal to the Iraqi courts if the ministry continues to adhere to this approach, pointing out that ISIS families should not live in better conditions and in comfort, and the already oppressed Yezidis should survive in cold and poverty.

At the same time, Nineveh Governor Najm al-Juburi announced that the Prime Minister had formed a Sinjar restoration committee headed by the Governor of Nineveh and members of a number of officials and department directors. The Committee will prepare a plan for the reconstruction of the judicial system in the villages, as well as allegedly deal with the restoration of infrastructure in all service sectors, for the implementation of which 28 billion dinars were allocated.
