The airline will operate flights on the Stuttgart-Tbilisi-Stuttgart route twice a week.
The German low-cost airline Eurowings will begin regular flights from Tbilisi International Airport named after Shota Rustaveli to Stuttgart from July 19, 2022, according to a statement on the website of the Association of Airports of Georgia.
The airline will operate flights on the Stuttgart-Tbilisi-Stuttgart route twice a week. The flights will be operated by an AIRBUS A320 passenger jet.
"We are pleased that Eurowings is expanding its activities in the Georgian aviation market. After Dusseldorf, it will start flights to Tbilisi from another German city - Stuttgart. We had fruitful negotiations with the airline within the framework of the Aviation Forum Routes Europe 2021. As a result, in the summer of 2022, the airline received an additional destination at Tbilisi International Airport," said Tamar Archuadze, Director of the Association of Airports of Georgia.
Those who wish can already purchase tickets on the airline's website.
The Georgian Airports Union has been actively working with Eurowings since 2017 to open direct flights to Georgia.
The air carrier entered the Georgian aviation market on July 4, 2021 and operates flights on the Dusseldorf-Tbilisi-Dusseldorf route twice a week.
Georgia resumed regular international flights on February 1 this year after a one-year pause due to the coronavirus pandemic.
To date, foreigners crossing the air border of Georgia must have with them a document confirming the full course of vaccination against coronavirus, or documents on the transfer of coronavirus within the last 100 days (confirmed by a positive PCR test) and a certificate of vaccination with a single dose of a drug authorized by WHO, and/or a negative result of a PCR test.
