"Georgia and Ukraine are close and extremely valuable partners in NATO seeking membership," NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said at a press conference in front of the Foreign Ministry in Brussels, scheduled for November 30-1.

According to him, the Alliance members will discuss the situation in the region with Georgia and Ukraine at the ministerial.

"We will also discuss the situation in the region with Georgia and Ukraine. They are close and extremely valuable NATO partners seeking membership. NATO supports them both politically and practically," Stoltenberg said.

The Secretary General also noted that at the meeting it is planned to discuss reforms that can be carried out in both countries. He noted that these reforms are important, regardless of whether both countries will be NATO members in the future.

"We are also focused on reform efforts. I think it is important for both of these countries to remain focused on reforms, carry out reforms, fight corruption, modernize their defense and security structures," Stoltenberg said. He added that the implementation of these reforms is important not only because it brings Georgia closer to membership in the alliance, but also because they are important in themselves and make Georgia and Ukraine stronger," the NATO Secretary General said.
