The exhibition is entitled "Silk Road. Contemporary Art and Artists from Italy" will be held at the Museum of the History of Tbilisi Karvasla (Sioni Street, 8) from October 28 to November 22.
The exhibition presents 38 works, eight of which are kept in the Farnesin collection. Paintings and objects created using different techniques represent contemporary Italian art from the 1960s to the present and combine the views of different generations of Italian artists. The three main themes of the exhibition are related to travel, meetings, and discoveries.
The exhibition appeared in Tbilisi as a result of cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Garuzzo Institute of Visual Arts (IGAV), and is part of a large-scale cultural project connecting Europe and Asia along the Silk Road.
The presentation of the new exhibition in Tbilisi is a continuation of the already held exhibitions organized by the Italian Embassy, as well as the continuation of cooperation with the Garuzzo Institute of Visual Arts.
After the capital of Georgia, the exhibition will go to the East and will end in China in 2022.
