The trade turnover between Georgia and China is growing successfully
In foreign trade turnover, China is inferior to Turkey and Russia, while in exports for January-September 2021, it ranks first.
The foreign trade turnover between Georgia and China has increased by almost 24.5% since the beginning of 2021 compared to January-September 2020 and amounted to more than one billion dollars – 10.8% of the total foreign trade turnover of the country, the National Statistics Service of the country "Sakstat" said.
China is Georgia's third main trading partner. The trade turnover between the two countries is growing annually. In foreign trade turnover, China is inferior to Turkey and Russia, while in exports for January-September 2021, it ranks first.
Since the beginning of 2021, 208.6 thousand tons of copper ores and concentrates, approximately 7.7 thousand tons of precious metal ores, 59.5 tons of tools and equipment used in medicine or veterinary medicine, 2.8 thousand tons of natural grape wines, 3.4 thousand tons of raw aluminum and so on have been exported from Georgia to China.
China imported more than 4.8 thousand tons of drilling machines and mechanisms, 28.8 thousand tons of flat rolled carbon steel, 8.5 tons of vaccines, blood and immune products, 7.3 thousand tons of tires, 187.4 tons of calculating machines and their blocks, and so on.
Georgia's foreign trade turnover with China in 2020 amounted to about $1.2 billion, which is 10.4% of the total trade turnover. The trade turnover between the two countries, compared to 2019, increased by 9.5%.
