Yezidis and their problems in the States of residence
As you know, there are national minorities in every state. We Yezidis are familiar with what it means to be in the minority in the states of our residence. Therefore, we are most often in a state of "lower grass, quieter than water". Which has both pros and cons. However, because of our position, most often our nation has either not been heard of, or is confused with other national minorities. How do we get out of this vicious circle?
In my opinion, there are several ways out of this situation:
- Be socially active
- To talk about the problems of our community (out loud)
- To educate your children
- Support representatives of your community
- Not to follow the path of marginalization
- Respect women's rights and end problems with early marriages.
Almost every state is faced with the fact that the passive residence of national minorities leads to the division of the titular nation into a recessive minority, that is, to us Yezidis. I would like to emphasize that national diversity within the state is considered a problem both in theory and in practice. The conflicts that result from this diversity, as well as attempts to find a way out of them, remain one of the pressing problems of modern politics: a remarkable feature of the modern era is the struggle of nationalist actors for the realization of the ideal of a homogeneous national state in a world where ethnic and national borders rarely coincide. It is in the context of this struggle and the theories created within it that intra-state diversity appears as a "problem" that needs to be "solved".
These "problems" should be solved not only by the state, but also by ourselves, because no one knows us Yezidis better than we do. If we fill the bubble with our problems, it will burst sooner or later, we need to start solving the problems that are gnawing at us right now.
If a drowning person does not want to be helped, then he will drown, and we will disappear as a nationality - Yezidis.
