The ruling Georgian Dream party intends to mobilize its voters to participate in the second round of local elections – this is how Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili explained plans to hold a rally of his supporters tomorrow, October 27, who are planned to be brought from different regions of the country.
In an interview with journalists, Garibashvili noted that the meeting on Freedom Square on October 27 will not be a contract in response to the rally of the United National Movement party, which gathered about 50,000 people at the same place on October 14 demanding the release of ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili.
"We want to announce maximum mobilization so that all our voters go to the polls. Now is not the time to relax.
I know that everyone believes, including our voters, that we will win everywhere in these second rounds, but we want this to be a strong victory, so that we win with a big advantage in all municipalities.
It is for this purpose that we should hold a large peaceful action, not a protest, but a peaceful action," Garibashvili explained.
