I want to state unequivocally that I, as Chairman of the Coordinating Council and Prime Minister, will not allow mandatory vaccination," Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said.
As the Prime minister noted in an interview with journalists, citizens should not be forced, but convinced that vaccination is the only way out in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
"Our citizens have the right to freedom of choice. I have done everything to import more than enough vaccines in a timely manner. Millions of vaccines have been delivered, and I personally participated in the negotiation process. We must convince citizens, not force them, and this is very important. We need to convince them that vaccination is the only alternative. You need to get involved in vaccination and get vaccinated. We have done two million vaccinations, managed to vaccinate a million citizens in just three months. I think this is a good, effective result... In many European countries, as well as in America, a powerful campaign is being conducted with people who are against vaccination. But we must trust scientists, not false information," Garibashvili said.
