The first founding conference was held in Qamishli, at which the creation of an alliance was announced, which includes Yazidi civil society organizations in the north and east of Syria. The event was held in the presence of 200 representatives of organizations in the region.

The representative of the Ezdina Foundation, together with representatives of other organizations in the north and east of Syria, was elected to the board of directors, consisting of 15 members, from more than 160 organizations that participated in the conference.

Member of the founding committee of the Alliance of Civil Society Organizations in Northern and Eastern Syria and member of the Development Organization Mari Nora Azir said that the first founding conference in northern and eastern Syria will last two days in a row.

The founding conference is attended by about 200 civil society organizations operating in the regions in the north and east of Syria, the level of women's participation in the conference was about fifty percent.

In turn, a member of the founding committee of the Alliance of Civil Society Organizations in Northern and Eastern Syria and director of the Syrian Research Center, Dr. Nasser Hajj Mansour, said that the coalition was created as a result of great efforts, pointing to the slow progress of civil society culture in northern and eastern Syria, adding that the organizations worked in accordance with their capabilities, but there were some problems in their work.

The coalition will become the mainstay, the main base and incubator for all organizations in northeastern Syria, and it will be able to play an organizational role in terms of political and humanitarian assistance for the Yezidi minority.

Haj Mansour noted that the goal of creating an alliance for all organizations is to create an administrative committee that will carry out the process of organizing and protecting the interests of northern and eastern Syria, in addition to solving the problems of displaced Yazidi refugees.

It is noteworthy that the program of the second day of the conference includes the participation of international organizations, where steps and plans for the future will be discussed, and recommendations will be presented to the elected board of directors.
