Exports from Georgia are growing again: what the country exports

Exports of products manufactured in Georgia (i.e. excluding re-exports) increased by 24% and amounted to $2,981,3 million.
Foreign trade turnover since the beginning of 2021 has increased by 22.3% compared to January-September last year and amounted to $ 10,009.7 million (excluding unorganized trade), the National Statistics Service of the country "Sakstat" said in a statement.
According to preliminary data from Sakstat, imports in January-September 2021 amounted to $ 7 billion, which is 21.6% more compared to the same period in 2020.
Georgia's negative trade balance from January to September amounted to $4 billion, which is 22.1% more compared to the same period last year.
What does Georgia trade in
A wide range of goods are exported from Georgia – copper ores and concentrates, ferroalloys, natural grape wines, spirits, mineral waters, cars, gold, forest and other nuts, etc.
In January-September 2021, exports of ferroalloys increased the most – by 75.5%, knitwear – by 70%, hazelnuts and other nuts - by 41.9%. At the same time, exports since the beginning of 2021 have fallen only on copper ores and concentrates – by 3.2%.
Exports of products manufactured in Georgia (i.e. excluding re-exports) increased by 24% and amounted to $2,981,3 million. The export of local products in the total volume of exports is 72.7%.
Oil and petroleum products, passenger cars, petroleum gas and gaseous hydrocarbon, copper ores and concentrates, medicines, wheat, electricity, telephones for cellular or other communications, and so on are imported to Georgia.
Since the beginning of 2021, the import of vaccines, blood, immune products has increased by 202.3%, computers and their blocks – by 142%, trucks – 77.3%, oil and petroleum products - by 57.2%, telephones - 37.6%.
At the same time, wheat imports fell by 15.6%, oil gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons – by 3.9%.
