Currently, more than 230,000 Yazidis live in Germany, which is the largest Yazidi diaspora in the world. Most Yazidis are well integrated, many of them have German citizenship, and they actively participate in the political process and peaceful coexistence in this society.
After the 2014 genocide, a large number of Yazidis from Iraq and Syria came to Germany, hoping to stay here for a long time, and maybe forever. Therefore, when making political decisions, it is necessary to take into account the interests and aspirations of the Yezidis. For this reason, the Central Council of Yezidis in Germany requires the following:
1. Recognition of the genocide that happened to the Yezidis in 2014. The crimes of ISIS against the Yezidis, without a doubt, are "genocide" if all the necessary conditions are met, on this basis many countries have recognized this, including Canada, Australia, Holland and Belgium. The recognition of this genocide by Germany should have happened earlier, and this would have been an important signal for the Yezidi citizens living here. In addition, ISIL members returning to Germany should be brought to justice, as they pose a threat not only to the Yezidis, but also to all strata of German society.
2. Providing sufficient state support to the Advisory Council of Yezidis in Germany so that it, in turn, can support new Yezidi refugees and accelerate their integration into society, in addition to combating hatred of Yezidis, especially among the Muslim community.
3. Providing special support through the relevant state educational institutions for the allocation of programs to combat hatred of Yezidis.
4. Allocation of places or quotas in German universities for the study of Yazidi culture and religion in a scientific and academic manner, allocating a special section for this.
5. The launch of special programs for the entry of surviving Yezidis into Germany, similar to the programs of the Baden-Württemberg district, to provide assistance to the most affected.
6. Promoting the right to stay (providing humanitarian accommodation) to Yazidi refugees arriving from Iraq and Syria by treating Yazidis as a persecuted religious group in Iraq and Syria.
7. Yezidis are citizens of this country and part of the community, so we demand the appointment of an adviser on Yezidi affairs in the German government. In addition, particularly persecuted religious minorities in Iraq, such as Yezidis and Christians, need the support of the German Government in the following areas:
Providing humanitarian support and reconstruction, especially of the territories captured by the terrorist organization ISIS in Shangala (Sinjar) and on the plains of Nineveh.
The aim is to increase the chances of displaced persons returning to their places of residence.
Sustainable Development Goals:
- Fighting poverty, preventing hunger.
- Health and prosperity.
8. Support programs for social stability and reconciliation of communities, as well as providing psychological assistance to people affected by ISIL terrorist crimes. The goal is to promote and maintain peace in the community.
9. The allocation of a federal agency to support religious freedom around the world and equip it with the necessary human and material capabilities.
Objective: To raise awareness and influence the political decision of Iraq in order to establish justice for religious rights in a State dominated by one religion.
10. Reducing inequality.
Sustainable Development Goals: To create sustainable structures around the world, United Nations Member States have set 17 goals in their 2030 agenda.
To shed light on oppressed and usurped societies (groups) so that the world becomes more just, healthy, peaceful and social.
