Priorities of Tbilisi voters in the new CRRC poll

According to the results of a recent public opinion poll conducted by the Caucasus Research Resources Center (CRRC), Tbilisi voters consider unemployment (24%), traffic jams (13%), air pollution (11%) and public transport (10%) to be among the most problematic issues.
During the survey, the fieldwork of which was carried out in the period from August 10 to September 5, 2,951 citizens were interviewed. According to the survey authors, the response rate was 14.1%, and the average margin of error was +/- 1.8%.
As for communal infrastructure, about 85% of respondents are satisfied with gas and electric infrastructure, as well as outdoor lighting, and less than 40% are satisfied with elevators and parking spaces.
However, 82% of respondents believe that it is better if the state decides what, where and how to build than the construction industry. Only 10% believe that the state should not interfere in the construction sector.
According to the survey, to create more recreational zones in the capital, the majority of Tbilisi residents (74%) support the idea of buying out already privatized such zones. Only 15% expressed a different position and said that it is better to spend the capital's budget in another direction.
At the same time, 79% of respondents believe that faster public transport and the presence of so-called "bus lines" are important, 11% preferred their own cars. Also, 63% of respondents prefer the renewal of urban transport than the construction of roads and parking spaces, and for 31% - the latter is more important.
According to the same survey, 45% of Tbilisi residents believe that traffic has improved over the past four years, while 63% believe that public transport has improved over the same period.
