Yazda President Haidar Elias, Yazda Director of Public Relations Saad Babir and Yazidi activist Adlai Kejan met with Adam Phillips, director of the Center for Religious and Neighborly Partnership of USAID-the US Agency for International Development, to discuss the situation of Yazidis and other minorities in Iraq.
Both sides discussed the role of USAID in helping religious minorities in Iraq to recover from the 2014 genocide committed by ISIL (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation), and also noted the importance of continuing this assistance through the implementation of various projects that help in safe return, education, health care and other public services.
Representatives of Yazda stressed that USAID has played an important role over the past few years in the resumption of life in the liberated areas of the Nineveh Plain and Shangal (Sinjar).
We remind you that Yazda is one of the most active Yazidi organizations, which implements many projects for the restoration of Shangal and the recognition of the Yazidi genocide at the international level.
