Half a million doses of Pfizer were met by the Prime Minister of Georgia at the Tbilisi airport

A plane with doses of the vaccine donated by the United States arrived at the Tbilisi International Airport. The plane was met by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Head of the country's Ministry of Health Ekaterina Tikaradze and US Ambassador Kelly Degnan.

Vaccination will begin on July 26 and will last until August 14 inclusive in 37 clinics of the country. Registration for the second dose of Pfizer's vaccine resumed on July 23.

In the event that citizens do not register for the second dose of Pfizer before 12:00 on July 24, they will automatically be registered in the same medical institutions where they made the first dose of the vaccine. At the same time, citizens can change the clinic or the date of vaccination.

Within 20 days, 250 thousand doses of Pfizer vaccine will be available to Georgian citizens, and the remaining 250 thousand doses will be saved for the second injection.

People from the age of 16 can now get vaccinated against coronavirus with Pfizer in Georgia. Before that, only people over the age of 18 could get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Mass vaccination in Georgia began on July 5. Such drugs as AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Sinopharm and Sinovac are available in the country.

According to the latest data, 391,781 people were vaccinated in Georgia, of which 136,734 received two full doses.
