Georgia will receive 500 thousand doses of Pfizer's drug on Saturday, July 24. This is reported by the Administration of the Government of Georgia.

These doses of the coronavirus vaccine for Georgia were allocated as a grant by the US government.

The fact that the United States is allocating half a million doses of the vaccine to Georgia was announced at a briefing in the government of Georgia.

According to surveys, the American-German drug Pfizer is the most popular among the residents of Georgia — the majority would like to be vaccinated with this vaccine.

Recently, the epidemiological situation in Georgia has significantly worsened. On July 20, it became known that Georgia was moved from the "orange", to the so-called" red " zone of the spread of the coronavirus on the world map of the spread of the virus.

The graduation rate is set by the American Johns Hopkins University, which has been publishing international statistics on the spread of coronavirus since 2020.

Epidemiologists and the government urge citizens to get vaccinated, as this is the only way to avoid worsening of the epidemic situation and prevent the introduction of strict restrictions.

The vaccination rate in Georgia is still extremely low — about 4% of the country's residents have been vaccinated with two doses of the vaccine.

Georgia currently has more than 1.5 million doses of Chinese drugs Sinovac and Sinopharm and another 43 thousand doses of the drug from the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca, which is used for those who are undergoing the second stage of vaccination.

Another 1-3 million doses of the vaccine from the SOVAX platform and another million doses of Pfizer are expected to arrive in stages from June to October.

One case of death was not recorded among those vaccinated with both doses, as of July 5, and there were 12 such cases among those vaccinated with one dose since the beginning of vaccination.
