Yazidi temple complex in Armenia-an object of national culture
The Yazidi temple "Tausi Melek and the Seven Angels", which was opened in 2019 on the initiative of philanthropist Mirza Sloyan in the village of Aknalich, is the largest Yazidi temple in the world. This temple, along with the temple "Kuba Sltan Ezdi" in Georgia, is a symbol of the revival of Yazidism in the post-Soviet space. Every year, the temple is visited by thousands of Yazidis from different countries. The temple complex in Aknalich has become both a spiritual and cultural and educational center for Yazidis.
Periodically, school tours are held in the temple complex, and teachers come here with their Yazidi students. Visiting the shrine helps teachers to familiarize children with their traditions and history, to instill a love for religion. Students also visit the grave of the great Yazidi patriot Mirza Sloyan, paying tribute to his memory.
In addition, the temple complex is visited by Armenians and representatives of other peoples, for whom the shrines and monuments in the alley are objects of national Yezidi culture.
