The FactChat chatbot will help you figure out where the truth is and where the lie is, and double-check any information related to vaccines and vaccination.

Georgia has created a FactChat program designed to combat false information about coronavirus vaccines and speed up the process of immunization of the population.

Vaccination began in Georgia on March 15. At the first stage, the vaccinations were intended for health workers, but there were few people who wanted to be vaccinated. Public distrust of the COVID-19 vaccine has increased after a young nurse died after being vaccinated in Akhaltsikhe. According to doctors, 30 minutes after vaccination, the woman developed anaphylactic shock. Therefore, we decided to expand the vaccination program. By this time, more than 11 thousand people had been vaccinated against coronavirus, which, according to experts, is not enough. To achieve the desired effect – to achieve collective immunity, about three thousand people should be vaccinated per day, and now this figure is just over one thousand.

"Misinformation spreads like a virus, and when lies about a vaccine spread, the virus itself spreads," says the Georgian Reform Association, which is the author of the innovative project Factcheck.ge.

Factcheck.ge has launched the #suspend Distribution campaign, which created the FactChat chatbot. The purpose of the bot is to provide the user with reliable, verified information and teach them to identify propaganda or fake stories.

The program pays special attention to spreading misinformation around the coronavirus and the covid vaccine. In addition, here you can find all the useful information about vaccination and the most common myths about the vaccine.

FactChat also has an educational function – in an entertaining format, using a variety of audio-visual materials, to acquaint users with the methods used by attackers to spread false news. Here, users will learn how not to succumb to deception.

"Constant objective informing of the population increases immunity from disinformation. We want to provide the necessary information on this topic to as many people as possible, so that Georgian society becomes more secure and is not misled, " the initiators of the project say.

The Factcheck command. Facebook Instagram also searches for and verifies fake news spread on social networks (Facebook and Instagram).

Factcheck.ge is a member of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) and a partner of Facebook.

To stop the spread of fake news, the user can send a link to the bot. The Factcheck command.ge will check it and tell you whether the information is reliable or not.
