Yazidis need cultural centers, theatres, exhibitions of their artists

As with civil rights, the cultural rights of the Yazidi people in their countries of residence impose an obligation on States, namely the obligation to respect, protect and exercise these cultural rights. The obligation to respect rights requires the state to refrain from interfering with the enjoyment and further and intensive promotion of the enjoyment of cultural rights. The obligation to exercise rights requires States to take appropriate legislative, administrative, budgetary and other measures for the full realization of cultural rights.

The situation about the rights to enjoy and develop culture in the community together with other members of the Yazidi community largely reflects the General situation with human rights and freedoms. Today, in Yazidi countries, the cultural rights of the Yazidi community are given secondary importance (sometimes not at all), considering that social or economic rights are much more important. However, international experience and history have shown and proved the opposite. It is the availability and implementation of cultural rights, access to culture that gives society the basis for democratization and the establishment of a state governed by the rule of law.in this regard, we can also talk about the opposite course. It was underdeveloped cultural rights and access to culture by ethnic minorities to ensure the awareness of the public and the establishment of a legal state. Considering the situation of cultural rights of the Yazidi community in the countries of residence, we can see an almost identical situation – the rights to culture of the Yazidi community are gradually dissolving and disappearing.

In the countries where the Yazidis live, the state has assigned them the right to enjoy cultural rights. But the Yazidi community in these countries does not have a real enough mechanism for protection and preservation, access to culture. The sense of proactive connivance on the part of the state and the lack of political will does not justify the current situation and the situation of the Yazidi community in all countries of residence without exception. The real possibility that the Yazidi community has created conditions for access, development, preservation of features, traditions and culture is close to a minimum. In the future, to zero.

Yazidis in the countries of their main residence still do not have working cultural centres, Sunday schools, the Yazidi community is deprived of its theatre, and there is no encouragement or support for Yazidi cultural scientists, artists or other artists in any country of residence. In General, this can be described as follows: the multi-million Yazidi people are not given the opportunity to organize and shape their cultural life anywhere, and no country of residence encourages or supports this initiative.

In this case, the hope is placed only on their own-their organizations, their cultural experts, historians, their businessmen, people who still value their Yazidi people, their culture, their history and their children's right to a Yazidi future.
