In Georgia, a new program "Skills for better employment" will be launched in 2020, reported. "News-Georgia" in the Ministry of education, science, culture and sports.

The Asian development Bank will implement an investment project worth $ 50 million, the main goal of which is to develop professional skills of citizens for their better employment and success in professional activities.

The government of Georgia and the Asian development Bank will jointly develop the Skills for Better jobs Sector Development Program. Implementation of the program will begin at the end of 2020.

The program will focus on improving the infrastructure needed for skills development in the education sector, as well as implementing appropriate programs and engaging the private sector.

The development and promotion of vocational education is one of the main priorities of the government of Georgia.

As part of the education reform, the diploma of a vocational school in Georgia will be equated to a full General education diploma.

Students with basic education (grades 9) in vocational schools will not only study a particular profession, but also all school subjects. Accordingly, if they wish, they will be able to enter a higher education institution at the end of the vocational school.

In addition, after receiving a full General education (12 classes), you can go to study for a professional program that is developed with the participation of employers.
