The volume of money transfers to Georgian commercial banks using electronic systems in 2019 amounted to more than $ 1.7 billion, which is 9.3% more than the amount of 2018. This is stated in the materials of the National Bank of Georgia.

Last year's figure is a record. For comparison, in 2018, the total amount of money transfers was about $ 1.6 billion, and in 2017 - $ 1.3 billion.

In 2019, the most money was transferred to Georgia from Russia – 651.7 million dollars, which is 24.7% of the total volume. However, there is no growth trend here. In 2019, money transfers from Russia to Georgia were received by 6.6% less than in 2018.

It is noteworthy that the volume of money transfers decreased from Turkey, which, like Russia, is considered the largest trading partner of Georgia.

This year, Kyrgyzstan showed unprecedented growth-more than 150%. In 2019, more than $ 28 million was sent from this mill to Georgia using electronic systems.

Most money transfers to Georgia in 2019 came from the following countries:

Russia – $ 428.9 million, which is $ 28 million less than the amount of money transfers for 2018 (-6.6%);

Italy – $ 239.2 million, an increase of 23.3% ($46 million more than the 2018 data);

Greece – 192.5 million dollars, an increase of 13.8% (22 million dollars more than the amount of the previous year);

US – 178.4 million, up 10.9% ($19 million more);

Israel – $ 162.5 million, an increase of 6.8% (an increase of $ 11 million);

Turkey – 94.8 million dollars, which is almost 11 million dollars less than the amount of money transfers for 2018 (-10.6%).

The top 10 also includes Germany, from where about $ 50 million was transferred to Georgia in 2019, Spain (about $ 47 million), Ukraine (about $ 43 million) and Poland (about $ 43 million).
