Abkhazian leader Raul Khajimba has resigned. Batal Tabagua, a member of the Abkhazian so-called Parliament, told opposition supporters at the rally in Sukhumi that Khajimba had signed a document on his resignation.

Khajimba himself confirmed his resignation in an interview with Russian media. When asked whether he will participate in the early elections, he said: "Life will show."
