The protest at the Georgian Parliament, which began in the early morning, is accompanied by clashes with the police.

The opposition, as promised, staged a protest at the Parliament of Georgia in connection with the fact that it is planned to approve indefinitely candidates for judges of the Supreme court of the country.

Georgian Parliament is waiting for a "hot day": resonant questions and picket

Opposition members and members of youth civic movements began to gather early in the morning. The action called "No to unscrupulous judges" is very noisy and periodically accompanied by clashes with the police.

By this time, several people had been arrested for disobeying the police. They, as the head of patrol police Vazha Siradze told journalists, refused to release the carriageway that deputies could enter the territory of Parliament by car.

The leader of the opposition party "New Georgia", a former party member of Mikheil Saakashvili Georgy Vashadze said that the police tried to "push" him into the car, although he did not violate the law.

Protesters chant "Slave" and " Shame." So they Express their attitude to the deputies from the ruling party "Georgian dream-democratic Georgia". The opposition has been boycotting Parliament for weeks.

The opposition is categorically against the approval of the candidates selected by the Supreme Council of justice. Initially, there were 20, but later one candidate gave up the fight to become a judge of the Supreme court of Georgia for an indefinite period.

Public defender of Georgia assessed the crackdown

The list of candidates includes judges who worked under Saakashvili and made, as his opponents say, "political decisions", and judges who are accused of creating "clan rule" in the courts under the current government.

Currently, the Supreme court has 11 judges, while there should be at least 28.
