One Yazidi killed, the second wounded

According to the Ministry of defense of Armenia, Artsakh army Private defense soldier Artur Ajamyan (born in 1998) was shot dead and soldier David Melikbekyan (born in 1999) was wounded at a military post in the North-East of the country on Monday, December 2 at around 6:50 am under unclear circumstances.

The conscript Artur Ajamyan, who died from gunshot wounds, was from the village of Artashar in the Armavir region of Armenia, a Yazidi by nationality, today he would have turned 21, the head of the rural municipality of Artashar Manvel Ohanyan said.

"Arthur's grandparents took care of him, his parents divorced," the village head said. "His mother lived in the Masis area, we had no information about her at all; his father was married and lived abroad. He lived with her mother for a while, and then he was adopted by his grandparents." Ohanyan noted that Arthur's grandparents are pensioners and are engaged in cattle breeding and agriculture. Relatives of the deceased Yazidi demand to find the real culprit.

A large number of residents of Artashar village gathered in the yard of the forensic scientific and practical center demanding that the relevant authorities immediately respond to the circumstances under which the soldier Artur Ajamyan received a fatal gunshot wound.

"We talked to him every day, he never complained about the service," said his aunt Elianora Ajamian.  "And yesterday was his birthday." Ajamian's relatives do not believe He committed suicide. "We demand that the perpetrator or perpetrators be prosecuted for the full severity of the law so that no parent can survive the grief we are now living in," one relative said.

Aziz Tamoyan, President Of the national Union of Yazidis, was present at the spontaneous rally at the forensic science and practice center. he condemned the incident and expressed hope that the reality will be revealed. Ajamian's relatives said they would not allow an autopsy on His body until a video was provided. The investigative Committee of Armenia on Wednesday, December 4, published the details of the investigation conducted in the framework of the criminal case initiated on the death of a young Yazid. The circumstances of the incident have not yet been determined. The investigation is ongoing.
