Lelo, the New right and the construction Movement have created a new political platform
A new political platform has been created in Georgia – the founder of the country's largest commercial Bank Mamuka Hazaradze, political Secretary of the fourth President of Georgia Pikria Chikhradze, as well as former speaker of Parliament David Usupashvili announced the beginning of cooperation today.
Pikriya Chikhradze is the Chairman of the New right party, which did not take an active part in the political life of Georgia after the 2012 parliamentary elections.
David Usupashvili in 2016 left the "Republican party" and founded his own "construction Movement", from which he ran in the presidential elections of 2018.
As for the famous banker Mamuka Hazaradze, he recently founded his own social movement "Lelo", which will soon be transformed into a party.
"We Express the interests of a large part of society, which is extremely critical of the current situation and are afraid of the return of the past. It will be a platform created by parity partners on a parity basis that will defeat the bipolar system, enjoy the trust of society and build a strong, developed, democratic country. Georgia is our homeland, which we must turn into a strong state, " Pikria Chikhradze said at the presentation of the new platform.
Lelo, the New right and the construction Movement, along with other opposition parties, support the demand for a fully proportional electoral system. The chairmen of these parties became co-authors of the draft alternative version of the electoral reform.
The document was signed by the leaders of about 30 parties. The project will be sent to the OSCE. It will be submitted to the Parliament of Georgia as a legislative initiative in case of positive recommendations of the organization.
