Yazda Informal Education Project: An Educational & Entertainment course for 110 children in Sinjar

Yazda is please to announce the reopening of its informal Education Project in Sinjar with support of the Irish National Teachers' Organisation.

This project is targeting 110 student aged between 4-13 years old in Borek town in the northern part of Sinjar. In this 3-month project, children are benefiting from different educational and entertainment activities after school which include music, English language, sport, maths, first aid. Since the past 4 years, this project supposed over 2500 students in different locations within Sinjar.  

In addition to the Informal Education, Yazda has been taking several measures to support access the formal education in Sinjar since December 2018 with generous fund from the USAID and support from IOM. This include:

Providing lecture-based allowances to 35 teachers in eight schools to support 5864 students since December 2018.

Supporting 8 schools in Sinjar every months with furniture, educational and school supplies.
