Ziarat (shrine) for the Yazidi, this sanctuary is designed for worship and religious ceremonies.
In ziariat, yazid prays in unity with the Almighty when addressing the Lord (the Lord is the Creator), and to the saints: the angel Maleka Taus and the seven angels.
One of the first Ziarat is Lalish (Laliş)— a temple in Iraq 60 km Northwest of the city of Mosul; a Shrine and a place of pilgrimage for the Yazidis.
In the pre-Christian period-the temple of the Sun.
There are two sacred springs in Lalish:
Kania Zemzem in the cave Zemzem.
Kania Spi - according to the Yazidi cosmogony, the world was a continuous ocean, and angels led by Malak Taus descended to the place where this spring is now located. They dipped the leaven into the water and created a firmament, in token of which a spring appeared in this place, which is Holy. This water Yazidis sanctify their children.
On October 6, the week of pilgrimage of Yazidis — Jamai begins. Every yazidi, as far as possible, is going on a journey to worship the Holy places and be consecrated in the waters of Kania Spi. Whoever visits Lalish and makes a pilgrimage is given a Barat (lit. "certificate of gift" — balls made by the nuns as a sign of consecration.
Lalish a place of public gatherings, ceremonies, has the right of refuge.
Today Lalas is not the only temple of the Yezidis all over the world. Sharfadin does not forbid the construction of new religious buildings.

The significance of ziaryats is often much broader than the ceremonial functions they perform and the religious ideas they embody. In the symbolism of architecture and decorative decoration of temples reveal the idea of the universe. Modern ziaryats are public meetings, solemn ceremonies, have a memorial character.
