Despite the fact that Tbilisi has a rather cold night-the air temperature is about-3, the protesters on Rustaveli were forbidden to burn fires. Late at night, up to 500 people remain near the Parliament, who are concentrated on Rustaveli Avenue, where there are six tents, as well as near the entrances to the Parliament.

Police searched activists for hours after the picketing began, inspecting their bags and clothes to stop attempts to bring firewood to the rally.
Participants are warmed by a ball game, dancing and hot tea and coffee.
From the very beginning, the organizers of the action took away three cars with firewood and iron barrels – in this way, the participants of the picket planned to keep warm, as they intend to stay near the Parliament all night. In the morning, the opposition and civil society activists who demand early elections will try to disrupt the plenary session of the Parliament.
Meanwhile, the police say that the use of firewood at the rally is a violation of the law.
In turn, the people's defender Nino Lomajaria stood up for the participants of the action – she regarded the seizure of firewood and iron barrels from the protesters as a violation of the law.
The Ombudsman wrote about this on her Facebook page, noting that such actions of the police illegally restrict the rights to meetings and demonstrations.

"To ensure the peaceful nature of assemblies, the law generally prohibits the use of explosive, flammable substances and / or items that can be used to harm someone's life and health.
In connection with the above-mentioned article, the constitutional court of Georgia clarified in 2014 that the law does not prohibit the use of specific objects or substances, but refers to those cases when the actions of members of the Assembly create a reasonable suspicion that these things will be used to harm people.
Accordingly, the collection of firewood or other items may be restricted by the police only if there is a reasonable and reasonable suspicion that there is a real and immediate danger that firewood and barrels may be used to harm the health of others (taking into account previous practices or behaviour at demonstrations).

Since we have not heard the police explain why they are taking away these items from the protesters, we believe that the actions of the police constitute an illegal restriction of the right to Assembly, " Lomjaria writes.
