Yazidi residents of the village of Kalhok, located in the Turkish province of Batman, decided to return from exile to their historical homeland. But they faced an obstacle from their Kurdish neighbors, When the Yazidi residents returned and began to cultivate their land, put in order their economy, a group of Kurdish radicals attacked them.

A resident of Kalhora Nadim Ercis told about the situation in their village in the air Lalish TV.

"We wanted to return to our villages. On the 8th we decided to plow our land, a tractor arrived and work began. But we were blocked and attacked. It's been 27 years since we left and gave our land to our neighbors for temporary use. And now we have decided to return to our homeland. About 3,000 Yazidis have returned to Batman this year. Previously, more than 300 villages were located in Batman province, but now only 13 villages remain. Many Yazidis are ready to return to their villages, but, as you can see, we are not allowed to do so, " N. Erkish said.

He noted that all these violent actions occur with the tacit consent of Kurdish parties and organizations.

"Some organizations and Kurdish parties say that the Yazidis are true Kurds. But today we are protected by the Turks, and the Kurds are attacking us. And these organizations and parties keep "heroic" silence. There are those who have supported us, but most are silent" — said Arkis

N. Arkis called Yezidi organizations and human rights defenders to help them in this difficult situation.

There were hundreds of Yazidi villages in the province of Batman in southeastern Turkey. In the 1980s and 1990s, the Yazidi population was forced to emigrate due to attacks and threats from radical Kurds. Most emigrated to Germany and other regions.
