The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the International Ezidi Theological Academy and Ilia State University
The formal Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the International Yazidi (Ezidi) Theological Academy and Ilia State University in Tbilisi, Georgia.
According to agreement stipulated that Ezidi theology courses should be held as a project of both research institutes, the university certificate should be awarded on behalf of the Academy and the University.
The Religious Council of Ezidies in Georgia has officially opened this academy for the special purpose. Under certain conditions, interested people can immediately enroll at the Theological Academy of Ezidies in Tbilisi which offers trainings and continuing education programmes in Ezidi religion for priests, theologians, teachers, researchers and students.
The academy provides training courses led by highly qualified specialists in Ezidi theology for prospective priests. Its teaching staff consists of religious and cultural scholars, theologians, historians and philosophers, understanding the sacred Ezidi religious texts (Qewls) and fundamentals of the Ezidi religion, philosophy of Ezidi faith and its history will be as main part of education programme
In this respect, it is worth mentioning that this agreement is the first of its kind in the history of Ezidies at the scientific level in which cooperation and partnership between an Ezidi religious school with academic rank and an official state university.
