The Georgian Parliament did not support the draft law on constitutional changes in the electoral legislation submitted by the opposition. The bill was put to the vote after the corresponding appeal to the legislature gained 200 thousand signatures.

A bill drafted in a parliamentary majority will be submitted to the legislature for consideration.

Both documents contain a provision that the country is switching to a proportional electoral system. With only one difference: the opposition proposes to allow the creation of political blocs in the pre-election period and to raise the electoral barrier to 3%.

In the ruling party "Georgian dream" these proposals are considered unacceptable, speaking against the blocs and for the zero barrier.

Under the bill, initiated by 93 majority MPs, to determine how many seats a party won, the votes it received are multiplied by 150 and divided by the votes received by all parties. The resulting integer will be the number of mandates. If Unallocated mandates remain, they will be distributed among the parties with the best results in order of priority.

Mandate (s) as a result of the next elections to the Parliament of Georgia, all those political parties will receive votes sufficient for at least one mandate.
