The opening of the world's largest Yazidi temple in the village of Aknalich on September 29, 2019 was a landmark event for Yazidis around the world. In addition to the Yazidis of the Republic of Armenia, the opening ceremony was attended by several thousand Yazidis who came from other countries-Russia, Germany, Iraq, the United States.

As emphasized in his report a famous blogger Yerevan Ishkhan ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sJqCGxdfdM ) creation and opening of the Shrine for Yazidis in meaning and spirit in something like the creation of Israel for Jews, because it is a symbol of unity of the ancient people and its return to its roots.

Also very revealing is the moment when the same Ishkhan at the opening of the largest Yazidi temple met a man in a Russian military uniform. This is a young Yazidi who is a citizen of the Russian Federation. In Russia, he lived in the city of Kursk, and now he is serving at the Russian military base located on the territory of the Republic of Armenia. The soldier specifically asked for leave from his commander (he calls him Colonel) in order to attend the significant event for all Yazidis opening of the new temple and dreams of coming here.

The very fact that a Yazidi soldier serving in the Russian army is so reverent about the shrines of his people and his Yazidi roots is very revealing. After all, these people, even being loyal citizens of their States (such as Russia) and faithful to their military oath at the same time do not forget that they are Yazidis. It is necessary that such people were more. So that even after reaching a high position in society or in their service, they do not forget about their roots and their people.

The new Yazidi temple should unite Yazidis from all over the world, and especially from the post-Soviet space. It is here in Armenia, in the Ararat valley and on the edge of mount Aragats today is the birthplace of the Yazidi people. Here are the homes and roots of tens of thousands of Yazidis, who are scattered today over the vast territory of the former USSR and Europe. It is hoped that the temple in the village of Aknalich will become the center of spiritual revival of the Yazidi people.
