NATO handed over to Georgia motor vehicles

The North Atlantic Treaty organization transferred 15 vehicles for various purposes to the NATO-Georgia Joint training and evaluation centre (JTEC) located in Georgia.

The center received new transport equipment as part of the"defense capability building Trust Fund". The project was funded by Denmark, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, Turkey and the United Kingdom, with the support of the NATO procurement Agency.

According to the NATO Allied Bureau, in 2020 it is planned to transfer the second batch of cars to the training center. In total, 1.2 million euros will be spent on equipping THE jtec center with road transport.

Georgian defense Minister Irakli Garibashvili attended the ceremony of handing over new vehicles to the JTEC training center on October 18. According to the Ministry of defense of Georgia, Garibashvili thanked the participating countries for the financial contribution and noted that it will help to improve the mobility of jtec personnel, and improve working conditions in General.

The NATO-Georgia joint training and evaluation centre was opened in 2015, on the basis of the Krtsanisi National training centre. The center is part of a" Substantial package " of cooperation with NATO and provides training to the military of Georgia, NATO and the organization's partner countries.
