Pope Francis to visit Kurdistan soon

The spiritual leader of the Catholics, Pope Francis, expressed satisfaction with the stability and calm in the Kurdistan region and plans to visit the Kurdistan region in the near future.

The delegation led by Minister for religious Affairs of the Kurdistan Estiveram Garden, met with the Prime Minister of the Vatican cardinal Pietro Parolin.

During the meeting, the Vatican discussed the Vatican's relations with Kurdistan, as well as the status of migrants and asylum seekers in the Kurdistan region, as well as the culture of living together communities of different religions in the Kurdistan region.

During the meeting, Vatican Prime Minister cardinal Pietro Parolin thanked the government of the Kurdistan region and its people for showing high humanitarian values to the world.

Parolin also thanked for the hospitality shown to him during his visit to the Kurdistan region.

It is noted that the delegation of the Kurdistan region also met with Pope Francis, who also expressed satisfaction with the culture of stability and tranquillity in the Kurdistan region, as well as respect for humanitarian values, saying that he would make every effort to visit the Kurdistan region and Iraq.

The delegation also held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Italy, during which the role of religious scholars of Kurdistan in the dissemination of Islamic thinking, far from extremist ideas, was touched upon.
