15th Black sea Conference opens in Georgia

The 15th Black sea conference on search and rescue has started in Batumi, Trend reports citing the Ministry of economy and sustainable development of Georgia.

The event is held on September 11-12 and is aimed at the exchange of experience between the black sea countries and the expansion of cooperation in the field of search and rescue measures in the Black sea. It is organized by the Maritime transport Agency of the Ministry of economy and sustainable development of Georgia.

The conference is held every year in different cities of the black sea countries.

"Accordingly, the black sea countries hold this conference annually to exchange information and experience gained over the past year. Georgia is ready to respond to the challenges of the Black sea and conduct large-scale search and rescue operations at a high level," said Tamar Iosseliani, head of the Maritime transport Agency.

The conference is attended by the black sea countries, as well as representatives of the Ministry of economy and sustainable development of Georgia, the Ministry of internal Affairs of Georgia, the Ministry of defense of Georgia, the center for joint management of Maritime operations of Georgia, the civil aviation Agency of Georgia and the state hydrography Agency of Georgia.

The conference was also addressed by the Executive Director of the German Maritime search and rescue service, captain Udo Helge Fox, as well as representatives of the International Maritime organization (IMO) and the European Maritime safety Agency (EMSA).
