Georgia's new Prime Minister: the Parliament approved the government of George Gakharia
The Parliament of Georgia yesterday announced a vote of confidence to the renewed government under the leadership of new Prime Minister George Gakharia.
98 deputies spoke in support of the new Prime Minister. The fact that the opposition did not take part in the meeting did not affect the process — there are 150 deputies in the Parliament, 76 votes are enough to approve the government.
Gakharia became the fifth Prime Minister of the ruling Georgian dream party in the last seven years. He succeeded Mamuka Bakhtadze, who led the government for one year and two months. Leaving his post, Bakhtadze noted that he "created a strategic framework for development", and the process of changing the Prime Minister in the party was called "improvement of the vertical of government".
Ivanishvili said that their activities in different government positions Gajaria deserve the post of Prime Minister.
