A Yazidi spokeswoman for the Kurdistan women's Union warned of the plight of members of a minority religious group in Sinjar, saying the group's girls were "still being kidnapped."

"Yazidi women in Sinjar are still living in difficult conditions. Girls and women are still being kidnapped, "Dilwyn Khalaf told BasNews, adding that a number of Yazidis are still being kidnapped by the Kurdistan Workers' party (PKK) to recruit into the group.

"I am 100% sure of what I am saying and I have proof of it.

I met those girls who were brainwashed and taken away by the PKK, " Khalaf said.

She also noted that Yazidi girls could not join the PKK freely and with the permission of their parents.

Halaf also warned about the cases of those civilians who were released from ISIS (banned in Russia), pointing out that they were forced to change their religion.

Khalaf further thanked prominent Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani for his support of Yazidi women, while criticizing the Iraqi government for its ineffective service to civilians in the past few years.
