Leading tour operators of Germany familiarized themselves with the tourism potential of Georgia
Tour operators in five German cities familiarized themselves with Georgia's tourism products, sea, mountain and health resorts, protected areas, adventure destinations, culture, Georgian cuisine and wine, the National Tourism Administration reported.
The department held presentations of Georgia's tourism potential in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Munich and Berlin.
The events were attended by more than 350 German tour operators and media representatives, including representatives of such famous travel companies and publications as TUI, DVR, Berliner Zeitung, Der Tagesspiegel, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Falstaff, Globetrotter and others.
A large-scale marketing campaign of the Administration was conducted in cooperation with one of the largest German marketing and PR-agencies KPRN Network GmbH.
According to the information of the Administration, German tourist companies are interested in preparing tourist packages to Georgia, which they will offer to potential travelers.
In parallel with the presentations in Germany, the National Tourism Administration is hosting representatives of leading media, influencers, bloggers and tour operators from Germany in Georgia.
According to official statistics, the number of visits by international travelers to Georgia in the first half of 2023 increased by 75.9% compared to the same period in 2022 to more than 2.8 million.
Of the total visits, 1.9 million were tourist visits, up 59.6% from the first half of last year.
The largest number of visits to Georgia in January-June 2023 was made by Turkish citizens - 582.5 thousand, which is more than twice as many as in 2022.
The second place is occupied by citizens of Russia, who made 577.6 thousand visits in the first half of 2023, 133.7% more than in January-June 2022.
According to the National Bank of Georgia, the country's revenue from international travelers in the first half of 2023 exceeded $1.8 billion, a record high. Compared to the same period last year, revenues between January 1 and June 30, 2023 increased by 57.9 percent.
Visitors from Russia spent the largest amount during this period, $482.1 million.
At the same time, in the first half of 2023, income from Russian citizens increased by 120.4% over the year, income from Turkish citizens by 142.6%, and income from EU citizens by 78.6%.
