The "Dream" Leader hopes that the new U.S. ambassador will dramatically change the policies pursued by her predecessor
"I am optimistically waiting for the new ambassador, Ms. Robin Dunnigan. I hope that she will radically change the policy pursued by her predecessor Kelly Degnan", said Chairman of the Georgian Dream Party Irakli Kobakhidze.
According to him, Kelly Degnan's activities in Georgia were counterproductive.
"You know that the former ambassador played a very negative role in the development of Georgian-American relations. Unfortunately, her activity was counterproductive. I very much hope that the new ambassador will radically change this attitude and under his leadership Georgian-American relations will deepen. I am looking forward to working with the new ambassador with great interest", Kobakhidze said.
In addition, Kobakhidze was asked how he would assess the statement of the People's Power movement regarding the new American Ambassador, which says: "Ambassador Robin Dunnigan was directly involved in organizing the Maidan revolution. He has close relations with Nuland, Yermak and Arakhamia".
"They have their fears. They believe there are risks, I believe we have reason for optimism under the new post. I'm very hopeful that there will be an extraordinary collaboration with Robin Dunnigan that should deepen Georgian-American relations. The problems that the previous ambassador created in Georgian-American relations were not easy. I hope that under the conditions of the new ambassador everything will change radically", said Irakli Kobakhidze.
