Georgia plans to simplify the regulation of international trade.

The government of Georgia has created a national Committee to promote international trade - the first meeting was held in the Ministry of Finance, according to the Agency's Facebook page.

The Chairman of the Committee is Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia Lasha Khutsishvili. This Committee is a permanent Advisory body of interdepartmental cooperation.

The Committee is an Advisory platform through which representatives of the private and public sectors will develop their partnerships.

"The purpose of the Committee is to develop recommendations for improving the system of regulation of international trade. The Committee consists of representatives of both the private sector and government agencies,"- Khutsishvili told reporters.

The Committee will develop recommendations and submit them to the government of Georgia for consideration to ensure that regulations related to international trade are

At the meeting, the parties discussed the obligations under the trade facilitation agreement, their implementation, new customs legislation, as well as the introduction of the institution of the authorized economic operator.

The Committee is also responsible for taking into account the recommendations of the world trade organization.

According to the Doing Business-2019 report, Georgia is ranked 43rd in the world in the "international trade" category.
