Georgian and Slovak defence ministers meet at GLOBSEC forum in Bratislava

The Georgian Defence Minister met with his Slovak counterpart during the GLOBSEC forum in Bratislava.

According to the Ministry of Defence, Juansher Burchuladze congratulated Martin Sklenar on his appointment to a responsible position and thanked the Slovak government for its continuous political and practical support.

"The participation and financial support of the Slovak experts in the successful implementation and operation of one of the leading projects identified in the NATO-Georgia Essential Package - the successful implementation and operation of the School of Defence Institution Building was particularly noted. The colleagues put the focus on defence-related cooperation. The sides also discussed directions of the bilateral plan of defence cooperation signed between Georgia and Slovakia, that is aimed at development, training and exchange of experience of defence forces of both countries", the statement issued by the ministry reads.

Juansher Burchuladze is a member of the Georgian delegation in Bratislava, headed by the Prime Minister of Georgia.

EU member state representatives, heads of government, heads of foreign policy, parliamentarians and experts gathered at the GLOBSEC conference discuss contemporary challenges, energy independence, the impact of the ongoing war in Ukraine and the future of Europe.
