Yazidi activists met with the Minister of Migration

A group of activists met with the Minister of Migration and Displacement with Mrs. Evan Faek Jabro to discuss the situation of the Yazidi refugees and displaced persons of Sinjar and the possibility of finding appropriate solutions.

During the meeting, which took place at the Ministry building in the Green Zone, and based on the suggestions and concerns raised, Mrs. Minister took the initiative to help those in need. Namely, to mobilize resources for the rapid and urgent treatment of Sinjar residents; to provide medical assistance to newly arrived Yazidi displaced persons; to accelerate the payment of the return grant for all those who have returned to Sinjar; to create urgent conditions for those who wish to return, which will allow them to return directly, without the need for waiting, depending on the database located in the office ministries; Implementation of technical and administrative reforms in the Department of Migration and Displaced Persons of the Sinjar branch in such a way as to facilitate and accelerate the provision of services to returnees.
