Despite all attempts to erase the Yazidi religious and cultural identity, there are young Yazidi activists who are working hard to revive the Yazidi heritage.

Yazidi youth are inspiring hope in all areas of art, science, culture, and they feel the great importance of preserving the Yazidi cultural identity.

"Mirzo Band" is a promising and new musical group formed in Shangala. Yazidi artists, dressed in national dress, are reviving the Yazidi artistic heritage through old folk songs at cultural and social evenings.

It is very important for Yazidi youth to know and remember their history, culture and traditions and to honor their heritage.
